Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Nursing Faculty member to join our team at the University of New Mexico. As a key member of our Clinical Education department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing educational programs for our nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Safety: Ensure a safe learning environment for our nursing staff by identifying and reporting potential safety concerns.
  • Education Assessment: Conduct needs assessments to identify learning gaps and develop targeted educational programs.
  • Instruction: Deliver high-quality educational programs that meet the needs of our nursing staff, utilizing adult learning principles and best practices.
  • Outcomes and Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Quality and Professional Practice: Maintain current knowledge and competency in nursing education and practice, staying up-to-date with best practices and research.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, collaborating with other professionals to promote quality patient care and education.
  • Evidence-Based Practice and Research: Integrate evidence-based practice into educational programs, promoting a culture of inquiry and continuous improvement.
  • Resource Utilization: Effectively manage resources to ensure efficient and effective educational programs.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in Nursing or related field, with a specialization in nursing education.
  • Experience: 3 years of direct experience in nursing education, with a focus on clinical education.
  • Credentials: Current RN licensure in New Mexico or reciprocal agreement, with CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, requiring heavy work exertion and exposure to biohazardous materials. The successful candidate will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
