Psychiatric Registered Nurse

Job Description:
- Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with the nursing process.
- Serve as a positive role model for quality patient care and a healthy work environment.
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies and procedures while caring for Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric patients.
- Administer medication, including IV medication according to the Seven Rights; document and communicate clinical findings.
- Work in collaboration with healthcare team to implement individualized care plans and provide discharge planning and patient/family teaching.
- Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden, adverse patient developments.
- Ensure that patient medical records contain necessary information. Answer telephones, triage calls, and participate in orientation and training.
- Encourage patients to participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment that may 'not seem right'.
Qualifications:
- Program Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing school.
- Current RN license in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM.
- CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuers within 30 days of hire.
Desired:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and/or national certification in area of specialty.
- PALS, TNCC and/or ENPC certifications.
