Position Summary: The ICU Registered Nurse will work within the nursing process to provide direct nursing care to assigned patients in the Trauma/Surgical ICU. This role involves providing clinical leadership for other staff, assuming relief charge duties, and serving as a role model to promote a positive work environment and quality patient care. The nurse will also ensure adherence to hospital and departmental policies and procedures, with patient care assignments including various age groups.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe direct care to assigned patients
- Work within hospital and nursing division policies
- Implement and document individualized care plans
- Assist with special tests and procedures
- Participate in orientation and precepting responsibilities
- Administer medication and maintain a safe, comfortable environment for patients
- Enhance professional growth and development through educational programs
- Follow patient safety-related policies and procedures
- Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations
- Encourage patient involvement in their own care
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a nursing program, with preference for a Bachelor's degree
- Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate
- Valid RN license in NM or reciprocal agreement
- CPR for Healthcare/BLS and additional certifications preferred
- Physical ability to meet heavy work demands and work in hazardous conditions
