ICU Registered Nurse

Position Summary: The ICU Registered Nurse will work within the nursing process to provide direct nursing care to assigned patients in the Trauma/Surgical ICU. This role involves providing clinical leadership for other staff, assuming relief charge duties, and serving as a role model to promote a positive work environment and quality patient care. The nurse will also ensure adherence to hospital and departmental policies and procedures, with patient care assignments including various age groups.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe direct care to assigned patients
  • Work within hospital and nursing division policies
  • Implement and document individualized care plans
  • Assist with special tests and procedures
  • Participate in orientation and precepting responsibilities
  • Administer medication and maintain a safe, comfortable environment for patients
  • Enhance professional growth and development through educational programs
  • Follow patient safety-related policies and procedures
  • Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations
  • Encourage patient involvement in their own care

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a nursing program, with preference for a Bachelor's degree
  • Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate
  • Valid RN license in NM or reciprocal agreement
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS and additional certifications preferred
  • Physical ability to meet heavy work demands and work in hazardous conditions
