Job Overview:

The SCR Commissioning & Field Service Specialist plays a crucial role in the installation, commissioning, and initiation of SCR projects as needed.

This individual will gain expertise in all primary subsystems of copper and aluminum rod mills provided to clients and will offer guidance and support for process installation.

The SCR Commissioning & Field Service Specialist will collaborate with various departments within the organization to enhance processes and equipment supplied by SCR.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work autonomously to oversee customer installation of SCR systems.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge and experience to install, configure, commission, and troubleshoot subsystems of the continuous processing system, including pumps, motors, and valves.
  • Address complex issues to pinpoint process and/or equipment enhancement opportunities.
  • Assist in the specifications, installation, and modification of SCR systems.
  • Manage the SCR service program, which includes periodic audits, vibration analysis monitoring, and preventive maintenance programs for end users.
  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance documentation for SCR equipment sold to end users.
  • Conduct customer training on system features and general maintenance practices.
  • Possess a solid understanding of equipment functions and effectively transfer operational knowledge to customers and new employees through training, publications, discussions, presentations, and other communication methods.
  • Serve as a resource to address technical inquiries from existing and prospective customers and new employees.
  • Generate daily progress reports during startups and field service visits.
  • Prepare reports, analyze data, and provide recommendations for operational improvements and maintenance-related issues.
  • Thoroughly document customer visits, process audits, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Willingness to travel internationally, potentially for several weeks at a time, up to 25% of the time.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial equipment installation and maintenance, along with an Engineering degree, or a minimum of 15 years of direct experience in industrial equipment installation and maintenance management.
  • Ability to plan, assemble, modify, validate, and maintain test equipment and related structural assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and sketches.
  • Assist engineers in operating test equipment to gather performance data on parts and assemblies under various operating conditions.
  • Collect, compile, and summarize test data, reviewing results with Engineering to resolve issues such as product or equipment malfunctions and incomplete test data.
  • Diagnose test equipment malfunctions and perform necessary repairs and servicing.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
  • Specialized Degree: Engineering degree or 15+ years of direct experience
  • Required Years of Experience: 5+
  • Field of Expertise: Installation and maintenance of industrial equipment.
  • Preferred Years of Experience: 10+

Additional Preferred Skills:

Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills, ability to work effectively in a team, strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and adaptability to changing requirements are essential.

A self-starter with a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement, requiring minimal supervision.

Proven track record of successful project completion.

Experience with AutoCAD or the ability to learn this software is desirable.

Capability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and OEM manuals.
