Role Overview:
The Field Service and Commissioning Engineer III plays a crucial role in the deployment, commissioning, and initiation of SCR projects. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of the primary subsystems within copper and aluminum rod mills, providing essential installation guidance and support to clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Independently oversee the installation of SCR systems at customer sites.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge to install, configure, commission, and troubleshoot various subsystems within continuous processing systems, including pumps, motors, and valves.
  • Identify and resolve complex issues to enhance processes and equipment performance.
  • Support the specification, installation, and modification of SCR systems.
  • Manage the SCR service program, which includes conducting regular audits, vibration analysis, and preventive maintenance for end users.
  • Create and maintain preventive maintenance documentation for SCR equipment.
  • Conduct training sessions for customers on system features and maintenance practices.
  • Effectively communicate operational knowledge to customers and new hires through various training methods.
  • Serve as a technical resource for existing and prospective customers, addressing inquiries and providing support.
  • Generate daily progress reports during startup and field service engagements.
  • Analyze data and prepare reports to recommend operational improvements and address maintenance challenges.
  • Document customer interactions, process evaluations, and troubleshooting methodologies thoroughly.
  • Willingness to travel internationally, potentially for extended periods, up to 25% of the time.

Essential Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial equipment installation and maintenance, coupled with an Engineering degree, or at least 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in planning, assembling, modifying, validating, and maintaining test equipment by interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Collaborate with engineers to operate test equipment and gather performance data under various conditions.
  • Collect and summarize test data, working with Engineering to troubleshoot product or equipment issues.
  • Diagnose and repair test equipment malfunctions as necessary.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree
  • Specialized Degree: Engineering or 15+ years of direct experience
  • Required Experience: 5+ years
  • Field of Expertise: Installation and maintenance of industrial equipment.
  • Preferred Experience: 10+ years

Preferred Skills and Attributes:
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; a collaborative team player.
  • Analytical mindset with a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement, requiring minimal supervision.
  • Proven track record of successfully completing projects.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and OEM manuals.
