Overview:

The SCR Commissioning & Field Service Specialist is tasked with the installation, commissioning, and initiation of SCR projects as necessary.

This role requires familiarity with the primary subsystems of copper and aluminum rod mills provided to clients, offering process installation guidance and support.

The Specialist will collaborate with various departments to enhance processes and equipment supplied by SCR.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Independently oversee customer installations of SCR systems.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge and experience to install, configure, commission, and troubleshoot subsystems of the continuous processing system, including pumps, motors, and valves.
  • Address complex issues to identify opportunities for process and equipment enhancements.
  • Assist in the specifications, installation, and modifications of SCR systems.
  • Manage the SCR service program, which includes periodic audits, vibration analysis monitoring, and preventive maintenance programs for end users.
  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance documentation for SCR equipment sold to end users.
  • Conduct customer training on system features and general maintenance practices.
  • Serve as a resource for technical inquiries from existing and prospective customers and new employees.
  • Generate daily progress reports during startup and field service engagements.
  • Prepare reports, analyze data, and provide recommendations for operational improvements and maintenance-related issues.
  • Thoroughly document customer visits, process audits, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Willingness to travel internationally, potentially for several weeks at a time, up to 25% of the time.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years in industrial equipment installation and maintenance, along with an Engineering degree, or at least 15 years of direct experience in industrial equipment installation and maintenance management.
  • Ability to plan, layout, assemble, modify, validate, and maintain test equipment and related structural assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and sketches.
  • Assist engineers in operating test equipment to gather performance data on parts and assemblies under varying conditions.
  • Collect, compile, and summarize test data, reviewing results with Engineering to resolve issues such as product or equipment malfunctions.
  • Diagnose test equipment malfunctions and perform necessary repairs.

Education and Experience:
  • Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
  • Specialized Degree: Engineering degree or 15+ years of direct experience
  • Required Years of Experience: 5+
  • Field of Expertise: Installation and maintenance of industrial equipment.
  • Preferred Years of Experience: 10+
