Position Overview:
The Field Service Engineer - Commissioning Specialist is tasked with the installation, commissioning, and initiation of SCR projects as necessary. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the primary subsystems involved in copper and aluminum rod mills provided to clients, ensuring effective process installation guidance and support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Independently oversee the installation of SCR systems at customer sites.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge and expertise to install, configure, commission, and troubleshoot subsystems within the continuous processing system, including pumps, motors, and valves.
  • Identify and resolve complex issues to uncover opportunities for process and equipment enhancements.
  • Assist in specifying, installing, and modifying SCR systems as needed.
  • Manage the SCR service program, which includes conducting periodic audits, vibration analysis monitoring, and a preventive maintenance program for end users.
  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance documentation for SCR equipment sold to clients.
  • Conduct customer training sessions on system features and general maintenance practices.
  • Provide technical support to answer inquiries from existing and potential customers, as well as new team members.
  • Generate daily progress reports during startup and field service engagements.
  • Prepare analytical reports, evaluate data, and offer recommendations for operational improvements and maintenance-related challenges.
  • Document customer visits, process evaluations, and troubleshooting methodologies thoroughly.
  • Willingness to travel internationally, potentially for extended periods, up to 25% of the time.

Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience (15+ years direct experience acceptable).

Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in the field of installation and maintenance of industrial equipment; 10 years preferred.

Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Self-motivated with a strong inclination towards continuous improvement.
  • Proven track record of successfully completing projects.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and OEM manuals.
