Job Title: Senior Psychiatric Technician

The California Department of Developmental Services is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Psychiatric Technician to join their team at the Stabilization Training Assessment Re-Integration (STAR) Acute Crisis Homes. As a member of the STAR team, you will work to provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities during times of acute crisis.

Job Summary

This role requires individuals who are passionate about person-centered care and committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for individuals with disabilities. The STAR homes are community-based settings where you will be responsible for assisting individuals with activities of daily living, providing emotional support, and promoting independence.

Responsibilities
  • Assist individuals with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Provide emotional support and promote independence
  • Work in a community-based setting to provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Collaborate with the STAR team to provide comprehensive care and support
Requirements
  • Valid California Drivers License (CDL)
  • Pass a drug screening
  • Clear a background investigation
  • Medical clearance
  • Possession of a valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the California Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners
  • Possession of a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certificate or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment
