Job Description Summary:

Advanced Home Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Front Desk Medical Receptionist to join our team. As a locally owned and operated agency, we are committed to providing exceptional patient care and support to our growing clinical field staff.

The Front Desk Medical Receptionist plays a critical role in maintaining accurate patient records for billing purposes, managing supply inventory, and providing exceptional customer service. This position requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Files all elements of patient records on a daily basis, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Date stamps all clinical notes on a daily basis, maintaining a clear and organized record of patient interactions.
  • Receives and routes daily incoming mail, ensuring timely processing and distribution.
  • Prepares daily outgoing mail, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintains a current log of interim orders and plans of care, verifying mail and return dates to comply with state and federal regulations.
  • Maintains adequate inventory of medical supplies and items needed to provide appropriate patient care, notifying the Clinical Supervisor when inventory needs to be restocked.
  • Maintains adequate supply of patient clinical record elements and stock of pre-made clinical records available for clinicians.
  • Answers telephone lines promptly and efficiently, responding to message content appropriately as instructed by the Clinical Director/Information Systems Supervisor.
  • Processes new patient referral information into the computer system on a timely basis, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Tracks verification for all skilled services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinates and verifies clinical documentation for input, including forms from admission through discharge.
  • Special projects and other related duties as assigned by the Office Manager.

Skills Required:

  • Ability to type 50 wpm.
  • Office Suite Experience (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Associate Degree Required or 2+ years experience in a medical setting as a receptionist, clerk, or other relative experience.
