About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Right of Way Plan Development Specialist to join our team at Trilon Group. As a key member of our infrastructure consulting firm, you will play a critical role in developing plans and documents related to acquiring and managing property rights for infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough research to identify property ownership, boundaries, easements, and other relevant land-related information.
  • Prepare detailed right-of-way plans, legal descriptions, and exhibits in accordance with project requirements and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate with surveyors to verify property boundaries, conduct surveys, and obtain necessary data for plan development.
  • Provide QA/QC for survey base maps provided by MSG or outside surveys. This includes checks of the property lines, right of way, topo (including digital TIN) and utilities.
  • Collaborate with project teams to assess project needs, identify right-of-way requirements, and develop acquisition strategies.
  • Review and interpret legal documents, including deeds, plats, surveys, and property records, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and databases related to right-of-way acquisitions and property transactions.
  • Provide support and assistance during public hearings, meetings, and consultations related to right-of-way matters.
  • Stay informed about changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards affecting right-of-way acquisition and property management practices.
Requirements
  • Must be registered as a Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Ohio
  • Must be prequalified for complex Right-of-Way by ODOT
  • Bachelor's degree in land surveying, civil engineering, real estate, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in right-of-way planning & development, land surveying, or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of real estate principles, land use regulations, and legal concepts related to property rights.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS software, and other relevant technical tools for plan development and documentation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing right-of-way acquisition (e.g., Uniform Relocation Act, National Environmental Policy Act) is desirable.
