Job Summary

Bodor is seeking a highly skilled Customer Service Engineer to join its U.S. subsidiary, Bodorlaser Inc. in Schaumburg, Illinois. As a key member of the sales and marketing team, you will be responsible for providing technical support to customers and ensuring their satisfaction with Bodor Lasers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing direct support for laser machines through phone, email, chat, and on-site visits.
  • Assist personnel and customers with troubleshooting of laser machines' mechanical and electrical problems, taking appropriate action to resolve customer issues.
  • Track technical issues and incoming requests from customers, managing schedules and following up with customers to ensure optimal use of lasers.
  • Perform mechanical repairs on laser machines at customer locations, determining if repairs require special resources or parts.
  • Understand layout drawings and blueprints for equipment installation.
  • Develop and maintain a parts list, ensuring parts are in stock by communicating with relevant customers, staff, vendors, and manufacturers.
  • Identify safety issues on machines and provide customer training.
  • Write and compose service reports and expense reports.
  • Perform failure mode analyses and make upgrade recommendations.
  • Assist with final integration and commissioning of complex automation projects as needed.
  • Assist with heavy mechanical moves, such as loading/unloading equipment onto trucks as needed.
  • Regular travel within assigned territories.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in mechatronic, automation engineering, mechanical/electrical engineering, or equivalent with 2+ years of experience on automated CNC machines.
  • Recent experience installing, repairing, and diagnosing problems with automated CNC machines.
  • Familiarity with engineering software, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.
  • Able to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and test equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and remote communications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-driven and responsible.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to travel as required (local and domestic).
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechatronic, automation engineering, or electrical engineering from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years of related experience on automated CNC machines.
