Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer II to join our team. As a Field Service Engineer II, you will play a critical role in installing, maintaining, and servicing clinical laboratory analyzers and other products sold by Block Scientific, Inc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform installation, preventive maintenance, and repairs on clinical laboratory instruments from manufacturers such as Abbott, Beckman Coulter, Hitachi, IL, Olympus, Ortho, Roche, Siemens, Sysmex, and Thermo Scientific.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues related to analyzers, centrifuges, spectrophotometers, and automated systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges and optimize instrument performance.
  • Experience with Beckman Coulter analyzers.
  • Customer Support - resolve technical issues efficiently and educate users on instrument operation, maintenance, and best practices.
  • Quality Assurance - ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP, FDA) during service activities. Participate in proficiency testing and quality control procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, electronics, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience servicing clinical laboratory analyzers.
  • Proficiency with instrument models from specified manufacturers such as Abbott, Beckman Coulter, Hitachi, IL, Olympus, Ortho, Roche, Siemens, Sysmex, Thermo Scientific.
  • Certification as a Clinical Laboratory Instrument Technician (CLIT) preferred.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office.
  • Road Warrior - up to 75% travel through designated area with periodic overnights.
  • Valid driver's license, automobile insurance, clean driving record.
  • Reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement at current IRS rate).
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
  • Current residency within the designated area. Relocation assistance is not available.
