POSITION SUMMARY

The Dining Services Associate plays a vital role in our senior living community's culinary team, dedicated to delivering outstanding food and beverage service to our residents in a friendly and inviting atmosphere. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe dining environment. The Dining Services Associate ensures a delightful dining experience by assisting with meal service, responding to resident requests, and keeping the dining area organized and tidy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the responsibilities outlined in the position summary, the following duties are crucial for effective performance in this role:
  • Welcomes residents as they are seated, ensuring the table is tidy and that all necessary utensils and napkins are provided.
  • Distributes menus and highlights daily specials, addressing any inquiries regarding the menu.
  • Records orders and serves meals and beverages according to residents' preferences and dietary needs.
  • Communicates food and beverage orders to the kitchen efficiently.
  • Ensures food is prepared to residents' satisfaction, returning any incorrect or improperly cooked orders to the kitchen.
  • Clears plates and tidies the table as residents finish their meals.
  • Assists with various dining tasks, including cleaning the dining area and preparing silverware and condiments.
  • Supports culinary team members by ensuring a consistent supply of clean dishes and equipment during service.
  • Contributes to kitchen cleanliness by removing waste, sweeping, mopping, and maintaining overall tidiness as required.
  • Delivers food, beverages, condiments, and other requested items to residents.
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Completion of required health screenings, TB clearance, and criminal record clearance.
  • Possession of any necessary licenses, certifications, and certificates (e.g., First Aid/CPR certification).
  • Special skills to meet client needs as per regulations.
  • Previous experience in a serving role is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry trays, and navigate comfortably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be capable of lifting, balancing, and carrying trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds.
