Job Overview

Position Type: Full Time

PRIMARY ROLE:

The Community Support Specialist will engage with participants to ensure a secure and supportive atmosphere, facilitating social and community engagement activities. This role reports directly to the Program Innovation Leader and the Director of Programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Proactively interact with participants during daily activities, adhering to a person-centered framework that aligns with individual program objectives.
  2. Motivate participants to partake in activities while fostering opportunities for personal choice and decision-making.
  3. Maintain accurate documentation, including daily logs, incident reports, and attendance records.
  4. Enhance community involvement by ensuring participants can fully access local resources through outings, field trips, and special events.
  5. Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions.
  6. Undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

General Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check.
  • Must possess a valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 45 lbs.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

Education:

SCHEDULE AND BENEFITS:

  • Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional weekends or evenings for special events.
