Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Central Garden & Pet Company. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes and systems to optimize productivity, efficiency, and quality in the production of goods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, including workflow, layout, and equipment selection, to ensure efficient production and high-quality output.
  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process specifications, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure manufacturing processes, equipment, and products comply with safety standards and legal regulations.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams for process improvement projects, new product introductions, or facility expansions.
Requirements:
  • Degree in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering preferred.
  • Experience using CAD, CAM, data analysis programs, and related software.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation, consensus-building, and analytical skills.
  • Proactive individual who manages with sound decision-making and project execution skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Software applications.
