Dampskibsselskabet Norden A/S is among the foremost and most dynamic operators in the dry cargo sector of the maritime industry. We are seeking an Operations Leader who will manage and optimize voyages while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction through your proactive approach.

As an Operations Leader at Norden, you will play a pivotal role in our operational framework, ensuring the seamless functioning of our vessels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement plans for dry bulk vessels, ensuring peak performance and adherence to timelines.
  • Cargo Management: Supervise cargo handling operations, including loading and unloading, while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Performance Analysis: Assess vessel performance and operational efficiency, initiating enhancements as needed.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster ongoing communication with various stakeholders, including agents, owners, vessels, charterers, and internal teams.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Generate and maintain precise documentation and reports, ensuring all records are current and compliant.
  • Issue Resolution: Tackle operational challenges swiftly and effectively.

You will join a large, energized, and diverse global team while also collaborating within a smaller group rich in varied experiences and knowledge.

Your Qualifications:

You are inquisitive, driven, and an adept problem solver, comfortable in a diverse and innovative environment. As part of a smaller team, you are collaborative, reliable, and enthusiastic. You prioritize quality work and overall team development. You should be capable of working independently while taking ownership of your fleet of vessels, projects, and responsibilities.

Additionally, you possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in dry bulk shipping operations.
  • Experience with profit and loss accountability.
  • A solid understanding of IT systems; familiarity with IMOS and SEDNA is advantageous.
  • Residency in the United States.
