Position Summary

The Ideal Group is in search of a highly skilled and meticulous Lead Accounts Receivable Specialist to enhance our dynamic finance team.

In this pivotal role, you will be tasked with managing all functions related to accounts receivable, which includes scrutinizing and interpreting financial transactions, overseeing collections, and ensuring precise and prompt invoicing in accordance with legal standards. You will collaborate with various departments to address billing discrepancies and issues.

The ideal candidate will have a profound knowledge of accounting principles and standards, coupled with outstanding organizational and communication abilities. Your contributions will be vital in fostering robust relationships across our diverse companies and ensuring the achievement of the organization's financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of accounts receivable professionals, offering direction and assistance in managing collection efforts and resolving client disputes. You will serve as the primary contact between the team and the Controller.
  • Work in partnership with cross-departmental teams, including sales, customer service, and finance, to address customer inquiries and resolve any billing-related issues.
  • Establish and implement best practices and protocols for the accounts receivable department, ensuring adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate customer accounts, promptly identifying and rectifying any discrepancies or issues.
  • Facilitate customer payments through various methods (e.g., credit card, check, ACH, etc.).
  • Assess and approve credit applications for both new and existing clients.
  • Manage the collections process, including reaching out to clients for outstanding balances and escalating collection efforts when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline (Preferred).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts receivable management or a comparable position.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
