About the Role:

The Pastry Chef will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our bakery, hotel, and restaurants, including team management, menu development, and customer service. This is a leadership role that requires a strong passion for food and pastries, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Menu Development: Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and create new dessert menus and recipes, including packaging and presentation.
  • Team Management: Manage a team of 10-20 staff members, including interviewing, hiring, training, and reviewing of BOH staff.
  • Operations: Oversee daily production, including bread, pastries, and desserts, as well as management of ordering and acceptance of daily deliveries.
  • Quality Control: Conduct daily quality checks of products to ensure high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Event Management: Attend outside events and programs, and participate in banquets and special events.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Restaurants, Hotels, or Clubs focusing on bread, pastries, and desserts, with at least 6 years of Executive Pastry Chef experience.
  • A genuine passion and knowledge of food and pastries.
  • Prior experience with Upscale Pastry, cakes, ice cream, and chocolate.
  • Experience with service and expediting banquets up to 800.
  • Sociable and friendly to staff and guests.
  • Meticulously clean and aware of all food safety standards (Serv Safe Certification is a plus).
