Sous Chef Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Gecko Hospitality. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety, while overseeing all aspects of food production and service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain food quality and safety standards, ensuring compliance with health department regulations and company policies.
  • Oversee all phases of food production and service, including inventory management, storage and rotation, food preparation, and plate presentation.
  • Manage kitchen supplies and finances, ensuring cost control and profitability.
  • Train and develop team members, promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to drive sales and guest traffic.
Requirements:
  • 2-5 years of high-volume culinary management experience, preferably with Asian cuisine expertise.
  • Proven track record of creating a safe work environment, incorporating teamwork and professional development.
  • Success in controlling costs and driving sales and guest traffic.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations and understand fundamental accounting principles.
