The Sales Engineer plays a pivotal role in steering the intricate sales journey, encompassing lead generation through to the complete sales cycle, targeting small to medium enterprises within the Retail Petroleum sector.
This position entails recognizing potential opportunities, formulating sales strategies, presenting compelling value propositions, performing ROI assessments, substantiating investments, and ultimately securing business agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote and sell gas price signage and associated services to retail petroleum operators.
- Effectively present and articulate products and services to potential clients and existing customers.
- Conduct thorough needs assessments and convey the value of offerings to prospective clients.
- Grasp and communicate the technical details and advantages of the products/services being marketed.
- Cultivate and sustain relationships with daily contacts, various leadership roles, and executive-level stakeholders within client organizations.
- Maintain an existing customer base while generating new business opportunities.
- Oversee project scope and manage customer expectations.
- Engage with clients from project initiation and maintain consistent communication to ensure a reliable presence.
- Document and manage all issues and risks associated with the daily operations of customer contracts post-implementation.
- Prepare contracts and pricing proposals utilizing standard templates and pricing guidelines.
- Provide training and support as necessary for both new and existing accounts.
- Process sales orders promptly and follow up on invoicing activities.
- Stay informed about industry trends, product advancements, and competitor offerings.
- Identify potential prospect categories, research sales contacts, develop tailored sales plans, and implement scheduled outreach and follow-up initiatives.
- Engage in cold calling and marketing efforts to attract suitable prospects.
- Maintain customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
- Participate in customer events and trade shows.
- Travel requirements: 50% to 70%.
- Additional responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of B2B sales experience, particularly in technical sales within the manufacturing sector.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and management capabilities.
- Self-driven and results-oriented.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to investing extra time and effort when required.
- Proficient in Excel, Outlook, Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Familiarity with NetSuite or similar CRM tools.
Compensation:
The starting salary for this role is set at a minimum of $70-80k base, with potential for higher compensation based on experience. This position also qualifies for commission.
