Position Overview:

The Procurement Specialist will engage in the acquisition of necessary products or services while ensuring the most advantageous terms and conditions are secured. This role requires collaboration with various departments to assess needs and foster effective vendor relationships that align with the company's best interests.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist Project Management, Manufacturing, and Service departments by ensuring timely procurement of mechanical and electrical components/services essential for production and after-sales support.
  2. Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms with suppliers to achieve the best possible combination of cost, quality, and lead time for all purchases.
  3. Establish and nurture strong vendor partnerships to guarantee performance metrics such as on-time delivery, quality assurance, and competitive pricing are met and enhanced.
  4. Support the Quality Control and Receiving teams in resolving any discrepancies related to products or documentation that hinder the formal acceptance and use of purchased items.
  5. Coordinate with Mechanical and Electrical Design teams to address any inconsistencies involving system part numbers, item descriptions, and vendor documentation requirements.
  6. Provide regular updates to Project Managers regarding the procurement status for their projects.
  7. Participate in project team meetings to maintain accurate and timely communication about project progress.
  8. Assist Product Management and Sales teams in obtaining quotes for materials/services needed for project proposal preparations.
  9. Work alongside Engineering and Design teams to identify opportunities for product training sessions to enhance understanding of vendor offerings and potential cost savings.
  10. Collaborate with colleagues and the Global Supply Chain Manager to pinpoint and implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and resource utilization while reducing costs.
  11. Adhere to all safety regulations and policies, and be prepared to travel as necessary.

Qualifications:

Candidate must possess an Associate's degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent experience, with 3 to 5 years in a business setting. Effective communication skills across all organizational levels are essential. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, organized individual who is adaptable and capable of working independently. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. A commitment to learning in a dynamic environment and a keen attention to detail are crucial for success in this role.
