Position Overview:

The Procurement Specialist will engage in transactions to acquire the necessary products or services under the most advantageous terms and conditions. This role requires collaboration with various departments to identify needs and foster effective relationships with suppliers to fulfill those needs in alignment with the company's best interests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Project Management, Manufacturing, and Service teams with timely procurement of mechanical and electrical components/services essential for production and after-sales support.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms with suppliers, ensuring optimal combinations of cost, quality, and lead time.
  • Establish and nurture strong vendor relationships to guarantee consistent performance in terms of on-time delivery, quality assurance, and competitive pricing.
  • Support the Quality Control/Receiving team in resolving product or documentation discrepancies that hinder the formal acceptance and use of purchased items.
  • Coordinate with Mechanical and Electrical Design teams to address discrepancies related to system part numbers, item descriptions, and vendor documentation requirements.
  • Provide timely updates to Project Managers regarding the procurement status of their respective projects.
  • Participate in project team meetings to maintain accurate and current communication about project progress.
  • Assist Product Management and Sales teams in obtaining quotes for materials/services necessary for project proposal preparation.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Design teams to identify opportunities for product training sessions to enhance understanding of vendor offerings and potential cost savings.
  • Work alongside other departmental staff and the Global Supply Chain Manager to identify and implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and resource utilization while reducing costs.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and policies.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a business environment.
  • Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Self-motivated, organized, adaptable, and capable of working independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn in a dynamic environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
