We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Manager to join our team at Abbott, a global healthcare leader. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for leading, setting, and executing procurement strategies for goods and services required within the entity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement sourcing strategies to support objectives in the area of indirect commodities, providing the entity a competitive advantage in the areas of materials, supplies, and services.
  • Locate, analyze, and develop a consolidated supplier base to meet current and future commodity needs.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts/agreements for assigned commodities with low to medium risk and low to medium complexity.
  • Administer agreements per best practices.
  • Lead a team of contract specialists to support their initiatives as well as develop their contracting capabilities.
  • Partner with corporate legal to streamline contracting activities to provide speed and efficiency to the business.
  • Develop risk management strategies and recommend short and long-term strategies with defined risk/benefit strategies.
  • Develop alternate sources to ensure a steady flow of goods, materials, and/or services.
  • Maintain budget and perform analyses of costs related to labor rates, charges, time, and cost of materials.
  • Monitor supplier capability and performance to ensure maintenance of deliver, quality, and price commitments.
  • Maintain and promote sound relationships with suppliers and business community.
  • Support projects to assure all procurement activities are performed as required.
  • Create and maintain mutually beneficial long-term partnerships with suppliers to foster feedback and continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in purchasing/commodity management.
  • 3 years working in a highly regulated environment.
  • 3 years working in highly contracted areas of risk.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience negotiating terms purchasing agreements.
  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Multitasks, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally.
