Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and results-oriented instrumentation professional to convert high-level project objectives into practical work packages. The successful candidate will work alongside both local and remote design teams to establish processes for detailed design execution across various chemical manufacturing facilities. Responsibilities will vary from single-discipline support to comprehensive multifunctional team projects. The ideal candidate should possess extensive knowledge in instrumentation design and be capable of managing a remote design team while overseeing estimating, scheduling, tracking, and executing multiple projects. ***This Hybrid role can be based in multiple locations.***

Key Responsibilities:
System Design and Integration:
• Develop robust system designs and integrate instrumentation and control systems within chemical facilities, including crafting system architectures and selecting suitable sensors and control devices.
• Design control loops to ensure optimal operational performance and safety standards.

Specification and Procurement:
• Define specifications for instruments, control devices, and automation technologies, focusing on accuracy, reliability, compatibility, and adherence to industry standards.
• Assess vendor proposals and select appropriate equipment during the procurement process.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
• Offer troubleshooting and maintenance support for instrumentation and control systems, diagnosing and resolving issues related to sensors, actuators, controllers, and communication networks.
• Create maintenance strategies and procedures to guarantee system reliability and operational availability.

Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and industry standards, evaluate risks, implement safety protocols, and design systems to mitigate hazards. Participate in safety audits and inspections.
• Continuously monitor and analyze system performance, identifying opportunities for optimization and efficiency enhancements.

Leadership:
• Exhibit strong leadership and interpersonal skills to foster cross-functional improvements; be a self-motivated team player with a proactive approach.
• Cultivate team culture by embracing change; mentor and develop team members.
• Demonstrate excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills to support a positive project outcome culture.

Management:
• Oversee discipline project execution activities to support detailed design across multiple assignments of varying complexity.
• Define and enhance work processes, implement and supervise checking procedures, and provide training opportunities for team members.
• Support project detailed design plans, including scope development, estimates, schedule input, and staffing to achieve project goals.
• Develop project deliverable work packages by managing approximately 30% of the detailed engineering and coordinating work for remote completion.
• Collaborate with project managers and division representatives across various manufacturing sites.
• Engage with construction teams to address field installation inquiries.
• Ensure successful project delivery by monitoring adherence to budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
• Provide technical oversight to remote employees and contractors.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical, chemical, electrical) from an accredited university preferred or 5+ years of experience in an engineering or engineering services organization, including project design leadership roles.
• Proven expertise as an Instrument and Control Engineer/Designer in the chemical or similar sectors.
• Strong understanding of sensors, control systems, and automation technologies.
• Proficiency in software tools for instrument selection, sizing, and database generation, such as AVEVA Engineering.
• Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to instrumentation and control systems.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Experience with CAD tools: 2D, 3D, Laser Scans, Bentley, AVEVA, and AutoCAD platforms.
