Position Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned instrumentation expert to transform high-level project objectives into practical work packages. The successful candidate will work in tandem with both local and remote design teams to establish processes for executing detailed designs across various chemical manufacturing facilities. Projects will vary from single-discipline support to comprehensive multifunctional teams. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in instrumentation design and be capable of managing remote design teams while overseeing estimating, scheduling, tracking, and executing multiple projects. ***This role offers a hybrid work arrangement.***

Key Responsibilities:
System Design and Integration:
• Develop robust system designs and integrate instrumentation and control systems within chemical facilities, including crafting system architectures and selecting suitable sensors and control devices.
• Design control loops to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Specification and Procurement:
• Define specifications for instruments, control devices, and automation technologies, ensuring accuracy, reliability, compatibility, and adherence to industry standards.
• Assess vendor proposals and select appropriate equipment during the procurement process.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
• Provide diagnostic and maintenance support for instrumentation and control systems, resolving issues related to sensors, actuators, controllers, and communication networks.
• Formulate maintenance strategies and procedures to guarantee system reliability and availability.

Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and industry standards, evaluate risks, implement safety measures, and design systems to mitigate hazards. Participate in safety audits and inspections.
• Continuously monitor and assess system performance, identifying opportunities for optimization and efficiency enhancements.

Leadership:
• Exhibit strong leadership and interpersonal skills to drive cross-functional improvements; be a self-motivated team player with a proactive approach.
• Foster a positive team culture by embracing change and mentoring team members.
• Demonstrate excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills to support a culture of reliability in project outcomes.

Management:
• Oversee project execution activities to support detailed design across multiple assignments of varying complexity.
• Define and enhance work processes, implement and supervise checking procedures, and provide training opportunities for team members.
• Support detailed design plans, including scope development, estimates, schedule input, and staffing to meet project objectives.
• Develop project deliverable work packages by managing approximately 30% of detailed engineering and organizing work for remote completion.
• Collaborate with project managers and division representatives across various manufacturing sites.
• Ensure successful project outcomes by monitoring adherence to budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
• Provide technical oversight to remote employees and contractors.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (mechanical, chemical, electrical) from an accredited institution or 5+ years of experience in an engineering and/or engineering services organization, including leadership roles in project design.
• Proven track record as an Instrument and Control Engineer/Designer in the chemical or related industry.
• Comprehensive knowledge of sensors, control systems, and automation technologies.
• Proficiency in software tools for instrument selection, sizing, and database management, such as AVEVA Engineering.
• In-depth understanding of industry standards and regulations concerning instrumentation and control systems.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and CAD tools, including 2D, 3D, Laser Scans, Bentley, AVEVA, and AutoCAD platforms.
