Position Overview
As a Reliability Engineer at Eastman, you will play a crucial role in enhancing process and equipment reliability within our manufacturing facilities.

You will be assigned to a specific operational area, collaborating with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams to identify, prioritize, and implement improvement initiatives aimed at achieving reliability, eliminating failures, and reducing costs.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with operational teams to enhance equipment availability and process reliability, minimizing unplanned production interruptions.
- Lead projects that deliver engineered solutions to complex challenges, thereby increasing equipment and process reliability.
- Work in partnership with maintenance teams to address reliability and maintainability concerns, reduce costs, and boost productivity.
- Provide support during plant outages and shutdowns as needed.
- Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies for effective problem-solving and risk mitigation.
- Identify and prioritize reliability improvement opportunities by analyzing data from SAP, reliability systems, and production logs.
- Lead and manage Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations.
- Conduct FMEA analyses on critical production assets.
- Offer reliability insights for capital projects as required.
- Provide technical leadership across all levels of the plant organization, particularly in collaboration with maintenance crews.
- Facilitate problem-solving teams to identify, design, and implement enhancements.
- Promote a safe working environment and adhere to Eastman's safety vision.

Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited institution is required, with a preference for Mechanical Engineering.
- Previous experience in reliability engineering, particularly within chemical or petrochemical environments, is essential, with a preference for candidates with 5+ years of experience.
- Strong foundational engineering and reliability engineering skills, with a willingness to learn advanced principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis (RCA) methodologies.
- Experience managing preventive and predictive maintenance plans using asset management software (SAP preferred).
- Knowledge of common process equipment (e.g., pumps, fans, motors, valves, instrumentation).
- Basic understanding of electrical power distribution systems.
- Awareness of predictive and diagnostic technologies for rotating and fixed equipment.
- Highly motivated, self-directed, and capable of managing a diverse project portfolio.
- Willingness to work in the field alongside mechanics and operators as necessary for urgent equipment troubleshooting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong group facilitation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- A service-oriented, customer-focused mindset with strong analytical capabilities.
- A steadfast commitment to personnel and process safety.
