Job Description

At Alaska Heart Institute, we are seeking a skilled Refund Specialist to join our Business Office team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for researching accounts with credit balances, identifying the individual/party due the refund, and maintaining strict confidentiality.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  1. Generating monthly credit balance reports from our practice management system.
  2. Researching credit balance accounts to determine if credit is refundable.
  3. Verifying insurance coverage and establishing the order of coverage.
  4. Recommending adjustments to accounts if necessary and preparing necessary paperwork for approval by the department manager.
  5. Preparing refund paperwork and submitting it to the Finance department.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in medical billing to join our team and contribute to the success of our organization.

Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred with an emphasis in accounting.

Experience: Two years of medical billing office experience required, with a focus on account research.

Certificate/License: None required.
