Job Summary:

Clinical Nurse Specialists at Providence Alaska Medical Center play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will act within the nurse-patient, nurse-nurse, and nurse-system spheres, facilitating a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach in the provision of healthcare within a specialty area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement clinical standards of practice and establish competency standards for staff members.
  • Function as a clinical resource, conduct and facilitate patient care consultations, and provide resources to assess the impact of appropriate practice on patient outcomes.
  • Apply your expertise to promote excellence in nursing care and contribute to the development of a culture of patient-focused, whole-person care.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
  • Alaska Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
  • Current certification as CNS, certification is preferred in area of specialty upon hire.
  • 3 years of Registered nursing experience in area of specialty.
