Clinical Nurse Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at Providence Alaska Medical Center. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will play a critical role in promoting excellence in patient care through the implementation of clinical standards of practice and establishing competency standards for staff members.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports clinical rounds with the multi-disciplinary health care team and works closely and collaboratively with physicians to establish collegial relationships that benefit staff, patients, and the community.
- Demonstrates a firm knowledge base and clinical expertise, functioning as a clinical resource, conducting and facilitating patient care consultations, and providing resources to assess the impact of appropriate practice on patient outcomes.
- Responsible for the promotion of excellence in the provision of nursing care through the implementation of clinical standards of practice and establishing competency standards for staff members.
Requirements
- Master's Degree from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
- Alaska Registered Nurse License upon hire.
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
- Current certification in area of specialty (i.e., CEN, CCRN) upon hire.
- 3 years Registered Nursing experience in area of specialty.
- 2 years Clinical Leadership responsibility.
