About Us:

At PingCAP, we are on a mission to revolutionize the database landscape. As a key player in the global market, we are poised for significant growth, particularly in North America and EMEA. Our flagship product, TiDB, is an open-source, cloud-native, distributed SQL database designed for scalability and real-time analytics. We serve a diverse range of industries, including finance, logistics, gaming, e-commerce, and SaaS, empowering organizations to enhance their mission-critical applications.

Role Overview:

We are looking for an innovative Senior Product Manager to lead our Developer Experience and Ecosystem initiatives for TiDB Cloud. This pivotal role will involve crafting the future of our developer and AI platform, ensuring a seamless user experience while expanding our ecosystem. Your blend of strategic vision and technical expertise will be essential in fostering an environment where developers can excel and innovate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for enhancing developer experience and ecosystem within TiDB Cloud. Create a product roadmap that aligns with market dynamics, business objectives, and developer requirements.
  • Product Development: Spearhead projects aimed at optimizing developer onboarding, workflows, and overall productivity. Oversee the creation of SDKs, APIs, integrations, and documentation to position TiDB Cloud as the leading platform for developers. Cultivate partnerships and integrate with third-party tools to broaden the TiDB Cloud ecosystem.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and customer success teams to translate market research into actionable product specifications. Formulate and execute a go-to-market strategy for developer experience and ecosystem initiatives. Champion the developer community and engage with contributors and external partners to enhance TiDB adoption.
  • Market Research & Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify current trends, emerging technologies, and competitor strategies. Recognize opportunities and potential challenges to maintain a competitive advantage.
  • Performance Evaluation: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of developer experience enhancements and ecosystem growth. Continuously refine strategies based on insights derived from data analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; advanced degrees are advantageous.
  • 7+ years of experience in product management, particularly in developer tools, platforms, or cloud services.
  • Strong technical foundation with knowledge of database management systems, cloud services, and developer ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams to deliver impactful products.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership abilities to convey a compelling product vision.
  • A genuine passion for empowering developers and a deep understanding of their workflows and challenges.

Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this position is between $150,000 and $200,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on various factors, including role complexity, location, job level, and relevant experience. This position is also eligible for PingCAP's Bonus and Equity Plan, as well as our Sales Compensation Plan if applicable. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, flexible vacation policies, paid holidays, and parental leave.

PingCAP is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We encourage individuals from underrepresented groups to apply.
