RWJBarnabas Health is in search of a committed Registered Nurse Resident to join the Med Surge unit V department at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus.

Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus is a fully accredited acute care facility dedicated to delivering top-notch medical and health care services to the residents of Ocean and Monmouth counties. As part of the RWJBarnabas Health system, Monmouth South is affiliated with Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch.

This facility is unique in the region for offering private rooms across all inpatient units, fostering an environment that promotes healing. Additional enhancements have been implemented to provide exceptional service to Lakewood and its neighboring areas, including the Better Health Senior Membership Program, a state-of-the-art Geriatrics Institute, and an expansion of cancer services.

Conveniently situated on Route 9 in Lakewood, Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus is dedicated to assisting patients in resuming their essential activities and improving their quality of life.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • ASN or Nursing Diploma
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Proficient in computer skills

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • BLS and ACLS AHA certification
  • Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License

Preferred:

  • BSN or completion within 5 years of hire

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Night shift, 36 hours per week

Essential Functions:

  • The Registered Nurse delivers nursing care within the healthcare system, adhering to the scope of practice as defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, while maintaining awareness of ethical standards as outlined by the ANA code of ethics.
  • Ensures safety in practice, incorporating evidence-based principles, and takes responsibility for enhancing personal knowledge and that of the patient care team through effective communication and utilization of available resources.
  • Responsible for reporting safety concerns, including hazardous environments and medical errors.
  • Possesses knowledge of the patient demographics served.
  • Supervises and directs task delegation to appropriate team members and collaborates with other healthcare providers.
  • Consistently evaluates and prioritizes interventions with measurable outcomes aimed at improvement.
  • Acts as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and tailoring the care plan to meet specific patient needs.
