RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a committed Registered Nurse Resident to join the Med Surge unit V department at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus.

Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus is a fully accredited acute care hospital dedicated to delivering exceptional medical and health care services to the residents of Ocean and Monmouth counties. An affiliate of the RWJBarnabas Health system, Monmouth South is a sister facility to Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch.

Monmouth South is distinguished as the only hospital in the region to offer private rooms on all inpatient units, fostering an environment more conducive to recovery. Additional enhancements have been implemented to provide superior service to Lakewood and the surrounding area, including the Better Health Senior Membership Program, a state-of-the-art Geriatrics Institute, and an expansion of cancer services.

Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus is conveniently situated on Route 9 in Lakewood and is dedicated to assisting patients in returning to the activities that matter most to them, sooner.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • ASN or Nursing Diploma
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient computer skills

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • BLS and ACLS AHA certification
  • Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License

Preferred:

  • BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Night shift, 36 hours per week

Essential Functions:

  • The Registered Nurse provides nursing care within the health care system, adhering to the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards while ensuring awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
  • The Registered Nurse ensures safety in practice and incorporates the principles of evidence-based practice by maintaining an awareness of their own level of knowledge and experience, taking responsibility for advancing their knowledge and that of the patient care team through communication and utilization of available resources.
  • The Registered Nurse is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
  • The Registered Nurse must possess knowledge of the patient population served.
  • The Registered Nurse supervises and directs the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other patient care providers.
  • The Registered Nurse consistently sets and evaluates priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
  • The Registered Nurse acts as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care provision and individualizing the plan of care to meet specific patient needs.
