Job Responsibilities and Requirements

This position is dedicated to supporting National and Strategic Account Customers by collaborating closely with Client Managers to deliver daily service to our Life, Disability, and Absence Management clients. The NA Account Consultant serves as the primary internal and external contact for issue resolution, partners with various internal teams to advance client initiatives, and oversees projects and outstanding tasks.

CLIENT SUPPORT

  • Collaborates with Client Managers on a portfolio of business encompassing the company's National and Strategic Accounts.
  • Works in tandem with Client Managers to offer clients alternative solutions.
  • Engages effectively with Client Managers, sales, and operational teams to achieve client objectives.
  • Shares knowledge with Client Managers to aid in the development of client strategies; supports and implements strategies to ensure client retention and profitable growth.
  • Assists Client Managers and Operations in the deployment of new technologies.
  • Works closely with Client Managers to launch new programs, products, and services.
  • Provides training and support to clients on employer-facing systems.
  • Collaborates with brokers, sales, and account management on data requests.
  • Offers assistance for Client Services Inventory analysis.
  • Manages Medical Underwriting tasks, including applicant status, EOI maintenance, and reporting support.
  • Ensures ongoing maintenance of client payroll calendars for accurate benefit calculations.
  • Coordinates with clients on communications such as Intake letters and employer correspondence.
  • Aids Client Managers with annual stewardship reporting packages and presentation materials as required.
  • Participates in or leads internal and external conference calls/meetings with clients, Operations, Claims, etc., as necessary.

CLIENT MANAGEMENT

  • Provides outstanding customer service as the primary contact for clients regarding daily account management needs, including but not limited to reporting, contracts and plan design, data analytics, evidence of insurability, performance guarantee monitoring and delivery, billing, client termination procedures, task workflows, service tickets, and client change notices, issue resolution, and general inquiries.
  • Cultivates strong relationships with Client Managers, clients, consultants, sales partners, operations, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strives to meet or exceed assigned metrics for client retention and customer satisfaction.

ADMINISTRATIVE

  • Maintains the account management database for assigned clients.
  • Prepares meeting agendas, minutes, and tracks all deliverables and project timelines.
  • Develops and maintains standard operating procedures as necessary.
  • Coordinates with clients and brokers regarding enrollment and benefit fairs.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Related Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with large case group insurance clients is required.
  • Group life and health license is required.
  • Self-motivated individual with a consultative approach and excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team under the guidance of Client Managers.
  • Knowledge of group insurance underwriting is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and other basic Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to Travel: Up to 10%

Work location may be flexible if approved by the Company.
