Account Specialist I Job Description

Aon is seeking a highly skilled Account Specialist I to join our commercial risk team in Philadelphia, PA.

About the Role:

As an Account Specialist I, you will assist Account Executives and Associate Account Executives on assigned accounts, managing key processes that serve clients and undertaking client-facing and internal activities related to these processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain effective and positive relationships with clients, serving independently in a client-facing capacity on matters of moderate importance and complexity.
  • Perform submission assembly/creation where assigned, facilitating the timely and accurate flow of information between clients and account team members.
  • Handle client open items lists and respond to client ad-hoc requests, gathering and analyzing data and drafting assigned elements of stewardship reports and other convincing presentations.
  • Actively support and monitor the renewal process, drafting quote comparisons and following up for binders, policies, and endorsements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with Aon Client Services (ACS), coordinating activities of the client service team and ACS to ensure that key processes assigned are performed efficiently and quality of client deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Premium Accounting on client billing matters, receiving and handling routine and sophisticated coverage inquiries and endorsement requests.
  • Serve as a key client liaison for items such as certificates, auto IDs, location additions, invoices, Worker's Compensation posting notices, allocations, premium finance agreements, summaries of insurance, and policy transmittals.
  • Monitor and follow-up on invoice generation, fee agreements, receivables, and collections, addressing and resolving problems.
  • May provide guidance and mentoring to a less senior account specialist, delegating work to support staff and ACS where applicable.

Requirements:

  • 2 years of previous commercial insurance experience preferred.
  • Property and casualty brokers license preferred or to be obtained within 120 days of start date.
