Job Overview

Position Summary: The Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations within a chemical or laboratory environment, ensuring all systems are functioning optimally and in compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma accompanied by a Technical Trade Certificate.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance and facilities management within a chemical or laboratory setting.
  • Proficient in preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment such as Chemical Storage Tanks, Chemical Transfer Pumps, Reactors, Dryers, Vacuum Systems, Air Compressors, Laboratory Equipment, PLC, HVAC, Security, and Fire Systems.
  • Experience in reviewing procedures and managing inventory of parts.
  • Familiarity with cGMP and ISO regulatory standards.
  • Ability to manage contractors effectively.
  • Knowledge of industrial process equipment and building systems, with the capability to plan maintenance schedules.
  • Experience utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize safety in all maintenance activities.
  • Assess and determine necessary maintenance or repairs.
  • Review and document procedures, ensuring maintenance documentation is current.
  • Oversee procurement processes for materials and services, including managing contracts, organizing purchase orders, and ensuring invoice compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Department to establish work priorities.
  • Evaluate building systems to assign work tasks effectively.
  • Support team members in troubleshooting equipment and system malfunctions, leveraging both internal and external subject matter experts.
  • Inspect work completed by vendors and contractors to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Manage contractor resources, including timesheets and materials, for inventory management purposes.
