Position Purpose:


The Operations Planning Specialist is responsible for the development, planning, and oversight of operations within various sections of the materials department. This includes the preparation of detailed written plans for lab pack repack, material processing, tank farm operations, and receiving sections to optimize incinerator burn results.

The role involves providing support to plant operations personnel, including troubleshooting, process startups, production volume management, and addressing site equipment issues. Collaboration with site personnel is essential to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:


1. Develop detailed burn plans that specify hazardous waste types, special heating instructions, and chlorine values for all drum waste.

2. Provide clear instructions to hourly personnel for the safe handling of solid waste to ensure proper incineration.3. Create plans for specialty and feeder systems, detailing waste types, flushing procedures, handling of residuals, and operator instructions for burning residual solid wastes.4. Maintain and update the reactive database and all profiles related to composition, handling, and incineration to facilitate appropriate burn requirements.5. Ensure that all hazardous waste inventory is processed within designated timeframes.6. Collaborate with operational personnel to identify the most effective methods for managing various waste streams.7. Prepare a variety of weekly and monthly reports to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of existing process burn plans.8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education / Experience / Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field is required.
Prior experience of 2-4 years in the hazardous waste industry is preferred.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
1. Extensive knowledge of processing methodologies.2. Strong team collaboration skills.3. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
Time Management:
The ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines effectively.Strong customer service orientation.Ability to present information clearly and effectively.
