As Gannett Fleming continues to broaden our client and project portfolio in the West Region, we are eager to find a qualified Construction Project Engineer to oversee inspections of medium to large scale Transportation and/or Transit related initiatives throughout the greater SoCal Area.

Your primary responsibility will be the effective management of construction contracts, ensuring the Owner's interests are represented on transportation-related projects. You will be expected to apply engineering judgment to assess and resolve technical challenges, lead project teams, and collaborate with the Owner, designers, contractors, and permitting agencies to deliver successful outcomes within established timelines.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise the on-site construction administration and inspection personnel.
  • Ensure contractor adherence to plans and specifications.
  • Facilitate timely and budget-compliant project construction.
  • Participate in progress, owner, stakeholder, and community meetings.
  • Address and resolve technical challenges.
  • Review and/or develop project schedules and budgets.
  • Generate and distribute reports and correspondence (e.g., submittals, RFIs, non-conformance notices).
  • Approve pay quantities and manage progress payments.
  • Review and/or create construction cost estimates.
  • Negotiate and draft construction change orders.
  • Conduct constructability reviews and value engineering assessments.
  • Lead claims and risk management evaluations.
  • Develop and monitor Quality Control and Assurance Plans.
  • Foster and maintain professional relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil, Structural Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Construction Project Engineer, Project Manager, or Construction Manager is preferred.
  • A California Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
