As Gannett Fleming expands its portfolio of clients and projects in the West Region, we are seeking a skilled Construction Project Engineer to oversee inspections for medium to large-scale transportation and transit projects across the greater SoCal Area.

Your role will involve the proficient management of construction contracts, ensuring the Owner's interests are represented effectively on transportation-related initiatives. Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the on-site construction administration and inspection teams.
  • Ensure contractor adherence to project plans and specifications.
  • Facilitate timely and budget-compliant project execution.
  • Participate in progress meetings with owners, stakeholders, and community members.
  • Address and resolve technical challenges.
  • Review and prepare project schedules and financial estimates.
  • Generate and distribute reports and correspondence, including submittals and RFIs.
  • Approve payment quantities and manage progress payments.
  • Conduct construction cost assessments.
  • Negotiate and draft change orders.
  • Perform constructability reviews and value engineering analyses.
  • Lead assessments for claims and risk management.
  • Develop and oversee Quality Control and Assurance Plans.
  • Foster professional relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Preferred experience of 2+ years in roles such as Resident Engineer, Project Manager, or Construction Manager.
  • California Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
