Behavioral Health Care Manager

Blue Shield of California is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Care Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Social Services Management team, you will play a critical role in helping members navigate the healthcare system and access necessary behavioral health services.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with case managers and other team members to complete member assessments and develop care plans.
- Work closely with service coordination staff to ensure timely and accurate responses to member needs.
- Provide support to members in accessing behavioral health services, including treatment plans and care coordination.
- Recognize and respect members' autonomy and right to self-determination.
- Assess members' health behaviors, cultural influences, and beliefs to identify potential barriers to care.
- Efficiently manage and maintain a caseload of members for behavioral health care coordination and case management.
- Stay up-to-date with clinical practice guidelines and national care manager performance standards.
- Provide information to members and providers regarding mental health and substance abuse benefits, community treatment resources, and company policies and procedures.
- Interact with utilization department and physician advisors to discuss clinical questions and concerns.
- Coordinate services with state and community programs on behalf of members.
- Act as a mandated reporter and follow up on reports made to government agencies.
- Current CA RN License, LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or PsyD by the Board of Behavioral Health Sciences required.
- Advanced degree preferred, commensurate with field.
- Certified Case Manager (CCM) or in process of completing certification when eligible.
- 5+ years' experience in nursing, healthcare, or related field.
- 3+ years managed care experience preferred.
- Experience conducting thorough psychosocial assessments, developing care plans, and providing interventions with complex client populations.
- Considerable knowledge of psychosocial challenges and familiarity with behavioral health diagnoses and treatment.
- Proficient with computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
Blue Shield of California offers a competitive salary range of $77,990.00 to $116,930.00 for this role in California. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from diverse candidates.
