Job Overview:The Senior Director of Public Policy and Mental Health will be responsible for developing and executing strategic government relations on local, regional, state, and federal levels. This includes monitoring and evaluating proposed and enacted policies, legislation, and regulations to ensure their impact on the organization. The successful candidate will work closely with the executive management and boards of directors to establish public policy, advocacy, and DEIA strategies, and support their implementation at all organizational levels.
Responsibilities:- Develop and execute strategic government relations on local, regional, state, and federal levels
- Monitor and evaluate proposed and enacted policies, legislation, and regulations
- Collaborate with executive management and boards of directors to establish public policy, advocacy, and DEIA strategies
- Support the implementation of public policy, advocacy, and DEIA strategies at all organizational levels
- Develop and maintain relationships with public officials, community leaders, and coalition partners
- Support community integration strategies and activities to bolster advocacy efforts
- Juris Doctor or graduate degree in public policy, social science, or related field
- 4-5 years of experience in public policy and advocacy in behavioral health or other human and social services
- Significant professional experience in public policy advocacy, public policy research and analysis, DEIA, and coalition building
- Experience interfacing with governments, elected officials, provider associations, and advocacy groups
- Experience in community relations, strategic planning, and business development, and work with non-profit governing boards
