At Stars Behavioral Health Group, we are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for our clients, visitors, and staff. We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Safety Specialist to join our team at our Long Beach - Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center.

Job Overview:

The Safety Specialist is responsible for maintaining a safe environment through direct and indirect physical and verbal interactions with clients, modeling appropriate behaviors, and monitoring daily client activities. This includes screening incoming clients/visitors for contraband, inventorying client property, and monitoring surveillance equipment. The Safety Specialist also controls access to the center, answers/directs incoming clients, conducts physical security checks, and responds to fires and/or emergencies.

Division/Program Overview:

Our 24/7 outpatient program provides rapid mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and medication support. We welcome walk-ins and can serve up to 12 adults and 6 adolescents. Our team is dedicated to providing quality client care and preserving the safety of all within our facility.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and two years' experience in a relevant field
  • AA degree in a related mental health field and one year experience in a relevant field
  • Relevant experience refers to working with severely emotionally disturbed children and/or adults in an inpatient or outpatient setting
  • Valid California Driver's License and clear DMV printout preferred
  • Valid CPR/BLS certification
  • Valid Security Guard Registration with California BSIS or commitment to register within 90 days
