Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team at Stars Behavioral Health Group. As a Behavioral Health Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing mental health services to individuals in need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the treatment team to facilitate the appropriate discharge and transfer of clients to the appropriate services and level of care.
- Participate in the treatment planning process, working closely with clients and the BHUCC treatment team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, collaboration and communication with outside partners and resources, and with preparing clients for program transfer and discharge.
- Confirm delivery of all ordered medication(s) from pharmacy on shift worked.
- Write summary on clients as assigned.
- Make written or oral shift assignments and plans, organize, and direct the nursing activities of the unit (when needed and assigned) to assure quality care delivery.
Division/Program Overview:
- 24/7 outpatient program
- Rapid mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and medication support
- Walk-in's welcome
- Clients may stay up to 24 hours
- BHUCC equipped to serve 12 adults (ages 18 and up) and 6 adolescent (ages 13 to 17)
Requirements:
- Associate Degree plus 2 years of experience in a social service field OR
- Bachelor's degree in a social science field plus at least 6 months experience in a social service field or a school internship in a social service field.
- Valid California Driver's License.
- Must be Bilingual.
