Position Summary
The role of the IT Technician is to maintain system performance and ensure functionality, enabling end users to complete their tasks efficiently. The primary goal is to address support requests promptly, serve as the first point of contact for IT-related issues, and guarantee user satisfaction, alongside various technical responsibilities.
IT Technicians must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, as they will engage with colleagues from different departments, executive levels, and clients on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving abilities, exceptional customer service skills, and proficient multitasking and organizational capabilities.
The Level III Technician collaborates closely with the sales team to deliver both pre-sales and post-sales assistance, which includes activities such as discovery meetings, site assessments, proposal development, and technical presentations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to incoming service desk requests via phone, web portal, and email, ensuring a courteous and efficient resolution of user issues.
- Set up and provision systems for new employees.
- Prioritize service requests and incidents based on established processes to meet service level agreements.
- Utilize remote management tools and diagnostic utilities to assist in resolving support inquiries.
- Perform on-site repairs at the desktop level when remote solutions are inadequate, including hardware fixes and delivery of necessary peripherals.
- Install and configure hardware and software across various network devices.
- Implement antivirus and endpoint detection and response solutions, ensuring up-to-date virus definitions.
- Administer servers using Active Directory, File & Print services, DNS, and DHCP.
- Manage and maintain network firewalls and switches.
- Conduct preventative maintenance, including cleaning and checking workstations, printers, and peripherals.
- Define and maintain the technology stack (solutions/vendors) for adoption.
- Foster positive relationships with all departments and colleagues.
- Ensure compliance with company safety and security standards.
- Engage in network and server solution design and architecture.
- College diploma or university degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience (minimum 5 years).
- Proficient in desktop and server operating systems, including Windows 7, Windows 10, Server 2008, Server 2012, Server 2016, and Mac OS.
- Experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment is essential.
- CompTIA Network+/Security+ and MS 365 certifications are required.
- Proficient in both English and Spanish.
- Successful completion of a background check is a prerequisite for hiring.
