Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as the Director of Recruitment and Student Engagement for the Penn State College of Education. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing recruitment strategies to attract and engage prospective students, as well as providing exceptional support to current students throughout their academic journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent the College of Education at recruitment events, both in-person and virtually, to promote the college's programs and services.
  • Participate in and coordinate panels, information sessions, and workshops to educate prospective applicants about the college and the admissions process.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all prospective students, providing guidance and support throughout the application process.
  • Conduct and coordinate visits to the College and informational meetings with prospective and admitted students and their families.
  • Develop and foster relationships with student organizations, The Advising and Certification Center, the Office of Education and Social Equity, and other college and university offices.
  • Participate and contribute to diversity conferences, events, and the Summer College Opportunity Program in Education (S.C.O.P.E.).
  • Contribute to the college's social media efforts and develop communication plans for prospective and admitted students.
  • May develop and manage a budget and supervise student workers.
  • Will co-advise the College's special living option, Education House, and Education Student Council.
  • Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
  • A positive, can-do attitude.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher plus three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in undergraduate admissions and recruitment.
  • Experience working with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Experience in event planning.
  • Superior attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Self-driven.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to work within a team environment.
