New Story Schools is currently seeking a dedicated Special Education Instructor to support our students with emotional and/or autism spectrum challenges. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process, which includes IEP formulation, teamwork with multidisciplinary professionals, and necessary documentation preparation.
- Create engaging lesson plans that utilize diverse instructional methods, tailored to meet the unique needs of students based on their IEP objectives, including necessary modifications for specialized instruction.
- Timely submission of required documentation, including lesson plans, IEPs, report cards, progress assessments, evaluation reports, and other relevant materials.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary team members to design and implement suitable educational services.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, parents/guardians, school personnel, and others involved in the educational process.
- Knowledge of child development, behavior modification strategies, and common behavioral challenges faced by children and adolescents.
- Proficient decision-making and leadership abilities.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.

Experience Required
- Minimum of 6 months experience working with children with behavioral or learning challenges.
Education Required
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Special Education or a related field.
Licenses & Certifications Preferred
- Special Education Teacher Certification.
- State Teaching License.
