POSITION OVERVIEW:

Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics is on the lookout for an innovative and forward-thinking creative professional to join our Creative Services Department as a Graphic Designer. This role will engage in various aspects of Penn State's prestigious 31-sport varsity athletic program, with the expectation of delivering exceptional designs that enhance the visibility of the brand and its student-athletes.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to, collaborating with the Assistant Athletic Director for Creative Services and Brand Management, as well as the Creative Services team, to create original and imaginative designs for an array of print, digital, and web-based materials. This includes social media graphics, recruitment materials, posters, game programs, signage, large-scale facility graphics, media guides, advertising, tickets, brochures, maps, website and email graphics, logos, and various promotional items. The candidate will also address design requirements for supporting departmental units, including Strategic Communications, Marketing, and Compliance.

The individual will be responsible for managing, organizing, and tracking a diverse workflow with multiple deadlines for both internal and external clients, archiving and organizing files, projects, and artwork, fulfilling numerous requests, assisting in editing digital photography, and contributing to the planning of photo shoots.

Qualifications:

This position reports to the Senior Graphic Designer and typically requires an Associate's Degree (Bachelor's degree preferred) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in supervising and managing a student intern program is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, and After Effects is preferred.
  • Familiarity with additional Adobe Applications is a plus.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is:

$46,000 - $74,000.
