Position Overview: As a Retail Operations Supervisor, you thrive in a dynamic environment, driven by your enthusiasm for literature and a commitment to exceptional customer service. Acting as the right hand to the Store Manager, you are responsible for maintaining the aesthetic and consistent presentation of our retail space, empowered to make decisions that enhance the shopping experience for our clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver consistent, friendly, and knowledgeable service to customers, leading by example and ensuring your team is trained to provide top-tier service.
  • Maintain a vibrant bookstore atmosphere through the precise execution of retail fundamentals.
  • Evaluate the store from the customer's viewpoint, utilizing insights to drive improvements in collaboration with the Store Manager.
  • Exhibit handselling techniques to promote successful initiatives, such as featured selections and preorders, enhancing sales and showcasing your expertise.
  • Foster the development of the bookselling team through engagement and coaching, providing constructive feedback to highlight individual strengths and recommend growth opportunities.
  • Achieve sales targets and operational excellence by optimizing efficiency and minimizing losses through timely process execution.
  • Ensure adherence to company standards regarding safety, customer communication, and all operational procedures.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with your team regarding critical issues, fostering a culture that embodies the company's values.
  • Collaborate with peers across locations to enhance overall performance.
  • Engage actively on the sales floor, which involves physical tasks such as prolonged standing, bending, lifting, and climbing.
  • Oversee store opening and closing procedures, ensuring the safety of both employees and customers.
