Position Overview

The Student Life Building Services department at South Dakota State University is in search of a dedicated Business Operations and Customer Support Coordinator. This position plays a vital role in enhancing operational efficiency, delivering outstanding customer service, and fostering a dynamic campus environment.

Key Responsibilities:

The Business Operations and Customer Support Coordinator will assist the Student Life Building Services by overseeing the work order management system, conducting data analysis, and aiding in budget oversight through various financial and administrative duties. Key responsibilities include:
  • Organizing and prioritizing workflow within the Student Life Building Services;
  • Addressing urgent matters and providing updates for significant projects;
  • Ensuring top-notch customer service at the Housing Facility Shop;
  • Communicating effectively with different university departments and managing emergency notifications;
  • Setting deadlines for preventive maintenance tasks;
  • Offering training on financial procedures, including purchasing and budget management;
  • Maintaining confidentiality during RFP and RFI processes.


Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Applicants should possess knowledge in the following areas:
  • General office operations;
  • Customer service principles;
  • Business English, including grammar and punctuation;
  • Financial and accounting practices;
  • Understanding of student conduct and legal regulations;
  • Data management techniques;
  • Purchasing methodologies;
  • Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite and Ellucian Banner.
