Job Summary

At Sherman Associates, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our real estate portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain assigned real estate properties.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to ensure compliance with safety and maintenance standards.
  • Respond to work orders and resident requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Prepare and turn vacated apartment units to a high standard of cleanliness and quality.
  • Assist in scheduling and completing preventive maintenance for buildings and equipment.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments as needed.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Work collaboratively with vendors and external parties to ensure seamless maintenance operations.
Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in maintenance or related carpentry/construction, ideally in residential or commercial real estate.
  • Special boilers license or willingness to obtain one, if applicable.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or willingness to obtain one, if applicable.
  • Current and valid driver's license required. Must pass a Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR) and have a safe driving record.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; ability to communicate effectively with community tenants, vendors, and across corporate divisions.
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
