Position Overview

We are currently in search of certified or registered Alcohol and Drug Counselors to enhance our Behavioral Health team. Bay Area Community Resources, a non-profit organization, is innovating one of our Alcohol and Drug Treatment Programs. Registered counselors with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly Rate: $26-$30 (full-time), based on registration/certification and experience.
  • 16 paid holidays provided by BACR.
  • Up to 3 weeks of vacation along with additional sick leave.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must possess certification or registration as an Alcohol or Drug Counselor or be a licensed counselor from a State of California Accredited Institution, such as CCAPP or CADPT.
  • Ability to work onsite at a designated facility.
  • Experience working with justice-involved populations is preferred.
  • Strong work ethic with a thorough understanding of professional, ethical, and legal standards.
  • Must successfully pass Livescan fingerprinting and background checks.

Preferred Skills:

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Proficient in computer usage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead educational and treatment groups both onsite and within the community.
  • Conduct intake assessments for new clients and manage discharges.
  • Provide individual care management services.
  • Facilitate engagement and retention groups.
  • Address client concerns related to substance use and criminal behavior.
